“Lys” is Danish and means “light”. But it is not only vintage lights that one finds in the beautiful shop Lys Vintage on Eppendorfer Weg, although owner Simone originally started the store with lights as a top seller. As a huge fan of everything Scandinavian, she brings chic as well as functional and innovative design from the North to Hamburg.
Thus, you may currently find vases by Normann Copenhagen and Kähler Design, chairs and coffee tables as well as carpets by Hay, lights by Gubi, pillows by Oyoy and Ferm Living and prints by Bob Noon amongst others at Lys Vintage. I have even spotted my favourite scented candles from Skandinavisk in all possible flavours in the shop.
The team around Simone rather sees a showroom in Lys Vintage than a store. Hence, one may borrow a product first to see whether it fits in one’s house, or even lend an item for a photo production.
In case you own and want to get rid of antique Scandinavian furniture from the 1950s and 1960s and want them to be well looked after, Lys Vintage might be your address, too. Finally, the showroom can be rented, either empty or furnished, as a location for an event.
