If you’ve ever been to a yoga class, or actually are a regular yogi, then you will agree with me that the idea of yoga is a lot more than impressive postures and strong yet flexible muscles. Surely practicing yoga consists of increasing strength and flexibility, however, the “yin“ part of it, the silence, the calm, the rest and self-reflection, is as essential as the physically challenging part (“yang“) for the holistic concept of yoga.
If people ask me how often I practice yoga, I struggle with the right answer to give. Every day, that’s for sure, although I only visit classes once or twice a week. However, also a few minutes of yoga in the morning, a few at night, and some breathing exercises and stretching throughout the day are considered yoga. It’s not only and all about a sweaty 90-minute rocket class! Whether you’re an advanced yogi or at beginners level, I am showing you some simple yoga exercises for every day today, which you can do at home, or even in the office, to feel re-energised, relaxed and liberated. Namaste!
I have once before told you about my passion for Yoga, remember? Wellicious, a London-based yoga wear label, has asked me to team up once again to talk about my progress. So, prepare yourself for a lot of sweat and “Shavasana”! With the temperatures being literally freezing outside, we found shelter in the London Skygarden to take some photos in action for you. Funnily enough, the Skygarden itself offers Yoga classes, too, so I ended up feeling strong and comfortable – exactly like a Yogi – doing my poses among the variety of visitors who came all the way up to the 35th floor for the stunning view over London. There you go: Yoga with a view: the London Skygarden!
