Whenever I mix myself a smoothie for breakfast – which, by the way, happens rather often, I have therefore even started a little hashtag project on Instagram – I feel so energised and awake, no matter how tired and little motivated I was before!
I think it’s pretty amazing to start your day with a whole bunch of fresh fruits and vegetables, not to mention cleansing, mineralising and protein-loaded seeds, nuts and powders! I would even go so far to assume that you might want to stay on the healthy track once the bells sound for lunch time, simply because every beginning is hard, but since your beginning into the day will be dead simple with the recipe below, you’re safe and sound, I assure you!
Feel free to leave out any powders or seeds you do not have handy, and also play around with the choice of fruits and vegetables if you like. You’ll see that enjoying a breakfast smoothie is a colourful, fun and satisfying way to kick off any day, not just a Friyayyyy!
Cleansing green smoothie
For one large glass (which equals one breakfast for one person).
1 banana, frozen
1 handful of kale
1 small piece (about 2 cm thick) of cucumber
1/4 of a small avocado
1 golden kiwi
2 – 3 sprigs of fresh mint, leaves only
1 medjool date, pitted
Dash of lemon juice
100 – 200 ml almond milk
1 teaspoon spirulina powder
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 teaspoon hemp seeds
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend for about 2 – 3 minutes until all ingredients are well combined. Add more milk if necessary and blend once again, enjoy immediately.
