Situated just a ten minute bicycle ride from the city centre, yet it feels as if it is not even part of a city, is Rosendals Trädgård, a stunning garden area with a café, bar, boutique and garden centre. We visited Rosendals Trädgård on a sunny day last week and I found it too wonderful not be recommended here!
We made a little detour via the foot path along the water to walk up to Rosendal from the city, and whether you walk up or come by bike, I recommend you do the same. Once you reach the beautiful garden area of Rosendals Trädgård, you will find wooden tables underneath shady trees, where people sit and enjoy bottomless filter coffee, salads, cakes, sandwiches and soup. The dishes created at the café are simple yet creative and very satisfying; plus, they are made with produce of the garden!
The carrot cake we had was one of the best carrot cake I have ever had.
We ended up shopping some plants for our balcony and had a look around at the boutique.
Rosendals Trädgård is a wonderful destination for any generation, our kids had a fabulous time running around, so us parents were fortunate to actually enjoy a meal in peace. We spent about three hours at the gardens without anyone getting tired of it. I will definitely come back to this fairytale place, it will be on top of my most favorite things to do in Stockholm list, I can already tell!
